Mixing Instructions for Royal Icing EGG FREE Dry Mix
Prepare Your Tools:
Ensure your mixing bowl and utensils are clean and free of grease, as this can affect the icing's consistency.
Measure the Mix:
For 1 cup of prepared royal icing, measure 100g of the dry royal icing mix.
Add Water Gradually:
Add 1½ to 2 tablespoons (15–30ml) of water to the dry mix. Begin with less water and add more as needed for the desired consistency.
Mix:
Use a whisk, hand mixer, or stand mixer on low speed to combine the ingredients until smooth. Once incorporated, increase the speed to medium-high and beat for 2–3 minutes until the icing is glossy and forms stiff peaks.
Adjust Consistency:
For piping: Use the icing as is (stiff peaks).
For flooding or spreading: Add 1 teaspoon of water at a time until it reaches a thinner consistency.
Cover Immediately: Royal icing dries quickly. If not using immediately, cover the bowl with a damp cloth or transfer to an airtight container to prevent drying out.
